Slotnik Sept. 27, 2018 David Wong Louie , an American writer who drew on his experiences as the son of Chinese immigrants to create stories that explored identity, alienation and acceptance, died on Sept. 19 at his home in Venice, Calif. He was 63. The cause was throat cancer, for which he was treated for years, his friend Stephen Mills said.
