Tesla's Q3 Earnings: Profit Blows Past Estimates Following a worse-than-expected second quarter this summer, when Tesla ( NASDAQ:TSLA Tesla delivered -- and then some. Its bottom line swung from a loss in the second quarter of 09 to a meaningful profit in Q as its automotive gross margin strengthened sequentially.
