Tyson earnings beat expectations but African Swine Fever could have an impact Tyson Foods Inc. TSN, -0.04% reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $426.0 million, or $1.17 per share, up from $315.0 million, or 85 cents per share, last year. Adjusted EPS was $1.20, beating the $1.14 FactSet consensus. Revenue totaled $10.44 billion, up from $9.77 billion last year and ahead of the $10.29 billion FactSet estimate. "Looking ahead, African Swine Fever has the potential to impact the global protein industry on a level that we have never experienced, and it is an event that will underscore the power of the Tyson business model," Tyson's Chief Executive Noel White said in a statement. The company's forecast for the current fiscal year doesn't include any potential impact from the illness. Tyson maintained its adjusted EPS forecast in the range of $5.75 to $6.10.
