Jason Douglas, the chief executive officer of the Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington, Neb., penned an open letter on Dec. 14 to the Tyson Foods Board of Directors, CEO Donnie King and Board Chairman John H. Tyson after the company decided in November to close the city's beef processing facility , eliminating 3,200 jobs. The decision came after Tyson said it planned to “right-size” its beef operations and strengthen long-term performance. Talk Business & Politics reported last month that Tyson's beef segment posted a record $1.135 billion loss in fiscal 2025, or $426 million adjusted.
