The announcement triggered a sharp selloff, sending shares down to a new 52-week low. Davis, an eleven-year veteran of the company, replaces Alex Kayyal, who exited the role after just five months. Kayyal had taken over as CFO in August 2025 following the departure of his predecessor. This marks the second change in the finance seat in less than six months. The company did not give a specific reason for Kayyal's exit. Even so, the rapid turnover has unsettled investors. Trade Desk shares have already been under pressure since reaching a peak in December 2024. Eleven months later, the stock is down more than 71%. Against that backdrop, another leadership change adds further uncertainty around the company's 2026 outlook, particularly as competition in digital advertising continues to intensify, including from Amazon's ( NASDAQ:AMZN ) expanding advertising platform.
