Titan International is closing its facility in Jackson, which will result in the layoff of 153 workers in the coming months, according to a notice the company filed with the state Tuesday. In a statement last week, Titan International said its workers would be impacted by the closure by the end of October. “The decision to consolidate production and close the Jackson facility is difficult knowing the impact it has on our team members and their families,” Paul Reitz, president and CEO of Titan International, said in a statement. “Titan continues to take deliberate actions to improve its operating efficiency while maintaining the flexibility and scale required to serve our customers.” The Illinois-based company produces off-highway tires, wheels and other related products. The company said that it will provide severance, continued benefits and help with job placement to the affected employees.
