Twin Hospitality Group, the parent company of Twin Peaks Restaurant, announced it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday, Jan. 26, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. The bankruptcy filing comes only a few months after Fat Brands, the parent company of Twin Hospitality Group and other restaurant brands like Fatburger, Great American Cookies and Fazoli's, began converting Smokey Bones barbecue restaurants into Twin Peaks . Fat Brands acquired Smokey Bones in 2023 and, in recent years, has shuttered a few locations and converted others. As of September 2025, 15 Smokey Bones locations were closed for good, per previous USA TODAY reporting In March 2025, Hooters also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy , seeking to address $376 million of debt by selling its company-owned restaurants to a franchisee, and in June 2025, more than 30 Hooters locations closed.
