Twitter Inc. said in its 2019 proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission late Wednesday that Chief Executive Jack Dorsey was paid a total of $1.40 last year, the same as the year before. Meanwhile, the total compensation of Twitter's median compensated employee was $213,155 in 2019, leading to a CEO pay ratio of less than 0.001. Dorsey owned 18.04 million Twitter share, or 2.30% of the shares outstanding at the end of 2019, which would make him the 7th-largest shareholder, according to FactSet data. The stock rose 11.5% in 2019, which would boost the value of Dorsey's shares by $59.7 million. Dorsey is also CEO of fintech company Square Inc. , which has not yet filed its 2019 proxy statement. If his compensation stayed the same--it was $2.75 for in 2018 and 2017--it would mean Dorsey made $4.15 from running two companies with a combined market capitalization of $46.4 billion.
