Texas Roadhouse shares slump after earnings miss, stock upgraded Texas Roadhouse Inc. TXRH, -5.10% shares are down 4.5% in Tuesday trading following an after-hours earnings miss. Still, the casual dining chain was upgraded to outperform from sector perform at RBC Capital Markets. RBC raised its price target to $68 from $66. "[F]or Texas Roadhouse, the particularly long beef cycle could be ongoing fuel for reinvestment or-eventually-increasing restaurant margins," analysts led by David Palmer wrote. And the "beef cycle" could offset labor costs. Analysts aren't concerned about a deceleration in same-store sales, with Texas Roadhouse reporting 5.7% growth at company restaurants and 3.9% growth at domestic franchise restaurants. "Using these multi-year stacked same-store sales trends implies 3%-to-4% same-store sales growth over the next year, which should drive normalized 10%-plus revenue growth," the note said.
