United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby raised eyebrows in the aviation industry after talking about a merger with American Airlines during a conversation with members of the Trump administration. But American says it's not happening anytime soon. The Fort Worth, Texas-based company released a statement Friday about the matter. “American Airlines is not engaged with or interested in any discussions regarding a merger with United Airlines,” the company said in a statement. Any deal would have a major impact on Charlotte's airport and other busy terminals around the world, according to experts.
