Chronicle) Airbnb is dropping its claim that it was overtaxed $120 million by San Francisco on its income from short-term property rentals in the city. The proposed settlement , announced Thursday, comes as San Francisco is struggling with a projected two-year budget deficit of almost $900 million and Mayor Daniel Lurie has ordered elimination of at least 500 jobs in the city workforce. The settlement, to be submitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval later this month, would resolve a lawsuit Airbnb filed two years ago seeking repayment of taxes the city assessed on its gross income and other assessments from 2019 through 2022. Also withdrawn in the settlement were any claims either Airbnb or San Francisco may have made
