WASHINGTON & CHARLESTON, W. Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--United Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: UBSI) (“United”), today reported earnings for the first quarter of 2026 of $124.2 million, or $0.89 per diluted share. First quarter of 2026 results produced annualized returns on average assets, average shareholders’ equity, and average tangible common equity, a non-GAAP measure, of 1.49%, 9.08%, and 14.40%, respectively.“Against the backdrop of geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties, UBSI continues to deliver resilient results,” stated Richard M. Adams, Jr., United’s Chief Executive Officer. “Strong earnings, sound asset quality, and efficient capital allocation highlight the first quarter, and we are well-positioned for success going forward.”Earnings for the fourth quarter of 2025 were $128.8 million, or $0.91 per diluted share, and annualized returns on average assets, average shareholders’ equity, and average tangible common equity for the fourth quarter of 2025 were 1.52%, 9.31%, and 14
