Unilever ( NYSE:UL ) is attempting a decisive portfolio reset, agreeing to combine most of its food business with McCormick & Co. ( NYSE:MKC ) in a $44.8 billion transaction that could reshape both companies' strategic direction. Under the agreement, McCormick will pay $15.7 billion in cash alongside $29.1 billion in shares, resulting in Unilever and its shareholders holding a majority stake in the combined entity.
