The company's CEO, Hein Schumacher, told an audience on a Dutch TV program that the most likely scenario for Unilever's ( UL ) ice cream unit is to “split off with a separate stock exchange listing and its own head office,” with the Netherlands having a “good chance” of gaining the listing, according to Bloomberg. The company's ice cream unit, which contains Ben & Jerry's, Breyer's, and Magnum operates primarily out of Rotterdam with plans to consolidate in Amsterdam. Unilever's main headquarters, however, remains in the UK. In 2020, Unilever ( UL ) considered relocating to the Netherlands and received tax incentives from the government of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Facing opposition from shareholders, Unilever ( UL ) dropped its plans to move out of the UK, but vowed to list any business that were spun-off in the future with the Dutch exchange.
