The stock fell 10% to $13.42 in morning trading. Shares are down almost 68% from a year ago. Advertisement The company on Wednesday cut its fiscal-year sales outlook to $30.5 billion to $31 billion, down from a prior forecast of $30.9 billion to $31.5 billion. United Natural Foods also narrowed its adjusted earnings outlook. "Following a prolonged period of high inflation, consumers are continuing to buy less and are shifting some purchases away from the traditional grocery channel," Chief Executive Sandy Douglas told analysts on a conference call. Chief Financial Officer John Howard said the company expects inflation to keep falling, but that the pace of the decline will likely moderate from here.
