Urban Outfitters upgraded on improvements at Anthropologie Urban Outfitters Inc. URBN, +2.89% was upgraded to neutral from sell at MKM Partners on improving fundamentals at the company's Anthropologie chain. The fair value estimate was raised to $41 from $20. Analysts say there's been a better assortment and fewer promotions at both Anthropologie and the namesake Urban Outfitters chain. And there's an opportunity for gross margin recovery in the second quarter with easier markdown comparisons. All Urban Outfitters brands are on trend, analysts say. And the wholesale channel in the U.S. and around the world is becoming increasingly important as the company ramps up distribution in places like Nordstrom Inc. JWN, +3.29% Urban Outfitters shares are up 99.4% for the past year while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.17% is up 13% for the period.
