The S&P/ASX 200 index added 2.2% to 5,320.1 by 0010 GMT after a 0.9% drop on Wednesday. For the week, it was up more than 4%. Overnight, all three major U.S. indexes climbed between 2.6% and 3.4% on hopes that the outbreak in the United States was nearing a peak.
