Vacasa Shares Fall 16% on Job Cuts, Operating Chief Exit, 4Q Loss [MarketWatch]

The vacation rental management platform said it is reshaping its structure through the elimination of about 320 positions across its local operations and central teams, which will mostly affect senior employees. Advertisement The company expects to book costs of $4 million to $5 million as a result of the cuts, most of which are set to be incurred in the first and second quarters of 2024. In addition, Vacasa said operating chief John Banczak is stepping down from his position on March 31. Banczak will serve as an adviser to the company through Sept. 30 as the company looks for a successor. The company's cost-cutting measures follow a big drop in revenue in the fourth quarter. Vacasa posted a fourth-quarter net loss of $76.5 million, or $3.48 a share, compared with a loss of $302 million, or $13.95 the prior year.
