Silver Lake is expected to take ownership of the Broadcom ( AVGO ) shares on Monday as the VMware ( NYSE: VMW ) cash and stock sale was completed Wednesday and the expectation is that the PE firm may look to sell a majority of them, CNBC's David Faber said earlier Wednesday on the business network. Silver Lake could potentially sell about $5 billion worth of stock as the firm owned 42 million shares of VMware. Investors are also wondering what billionaire investor Michael Dell wiill do with his Broadcom ( AVGO ) shares. Dell was the biggest owner of VMware, holding 155 million shares. Broadcom ( AVGO ) completed its purchase of VMware after finally winning conditional approval from China for the mega transaction on Tuesday.
