Vertiv Holdings ( NYSE:VRT ) shares rose to $248.69 in pre-market trading after the company was selected for inclusion in the S&P 500 as part of the indexs upcoming quarterly rebalance. S&P Dow Jones Indices announced that Vertiv will join the benchmark index before the market opens on March 23, 2026, replacing companies that will move to other S&P indices. Vertiv, which provides power management, cooling, and other infrastructure used in data centers, has been one of the beneficiaries of the artificial intelligence buildout as hyperscale operators expand computing capacity. The company will join the index alongside Lumentum ( NASDAQ:LITE ) and Coherent ( NYSE:COHR Shares are up approximately 43% year to date and have gained roughly 195% over the past twelve months, a run that tracks the acceleration in AI infrastructure orders.
