The tech giant made agreements with Vistra, TerraPower and Oklo to bring 6.6 gigawatts of power online for its cluster of data centers by 2035. The power draw exceeds the energy demands of the entire state of New Hampshire. "At Meta, we are investing in nuclear energy because it provides clean, reliable power that is essential for advancing our AI ambitions and strengthening American leadership in energy innovation," Urvi Parekh, head of global energy at Meta, said in a statement Meta and Vistra Energy, a power company based in Irving, Texas, agreed to a 20-year power purchase agreement. Meta's data centers will draw 2,176 megawatts of power from three Vistra nuclear plants. Stacey Doré, chief strategy and sustainability officer for Vistra, said its Perry, Davis-Besse and Beaver Valley plants were set to be retired as recently as 2020. The company purchased those plants in 2023. TerraPower and Meta's agreement will develop up to eight Natrium reactor and energy storage system
