Vista Outdoor ( VSTO ) confirmed on Monday it was in talks with MNC Capital regarding an acquisition, but is waiting for a better offer. MNC increased its offer from $35 per share to $37.50 to entice Vista ( VSTO ) to sell the entire company, rather than split off its ammunition business with a sale to CSG. However, Vista ( VSTO ) believes that a planned breakup of the company would be more valuable for shareholders than a sale to MNC. The CSG deal has faced resistance from some U.S. politicians, and it requires approval from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). The resistance the deal is seeing makes it unlikely that CSG's offer will get CFIUS approval before Vista's June 14 holder vote, sources sold CTFN. CSG earlier this month gave assurances that the business will remain in the U.S. and maintain a supply to American customers.
