Verizon to launch 5G Ulta Wideband Network this year Verizon Communications Inc. VZ, +0.73% said Thursday it plans to launch its 5G Ultra Wideband Network in more than 30 cities in 2019, with its Verizon 5G Mobility service launching in the first half of the year and Verizon 5G Home expanding coverage in the second half. The telecommunications giant said it expects revenue from Mobility and Home to begin scaling next year, and to contribute "more meaningfully to growth" in 2021. The company outlined its "vision of the future" at its investor conference in New York. The announcement also comes on the day President Trump tweeted , "I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible." Separately, Verizon confirmed that it was on track to reach its goal to achieve $10 billion in cumulative cash savings by 2021. Verizon's stock, which rose 1.0% in afternoon trade, has rallied 17.4% over the past 12 months, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.34% h
