Enzor-DeMeo most recently ?served as the general manager of Firefox. He takes over from interim CEO Laura Chambers, who has been in charge for the past two years. The appointment comes as ?AI-integrated browsers like Perplexity's ?Comet try to take market share away from traditional web browsers such as Firefox. Industry ?incumbents including Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Opera have also rolled out AI features, including "agentic" tools that help users with tasks ?such as research and planning. Enzor-DeMeo said he plans ?to expand Firefox and Mozilla's product ecosystem with AI-powered features, while reducing the company's dependence on search revenue over the next three years. Mozilla's Firefox browser uses Alphabet's Google search as its default search engine. Google's payments to ?be the default comprise about ?85% of Mozilla's annual revenue.
