after a $4.0 million provision tied to two commercial real estate office loans moved to non-accrual; non-accruals rose to 81 bps of loans and the allowance is $41.1 million (82 bps). Net interest margin expanded to 2.63% (up 7 bps q/q and 34 bps y/y), and management expects NIM of roughly 2.65–2.70% in Q2 and 2.75–2.80% by year-end, helped by a swap termination that will add ~9 bps in Q2 and ~4 bps in Q3. Balance sheet and growth outlook : total loans and deposits were down about 2% (CRE paydowns drove loan declines), but the bank is sticking with a mid-single-digit loan growth target driven by expected high single-digit core C&I growth from the new institutional banking team and plans to continue reducing office exposure (from $300M to $230M), while advancing digital upgrades and a new Pawtucket branch.
