WATERBURY, Conn., July 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), the holding company for Webster Bank, N.A. and its HSA Bank division, today announced earnings applicable to common shareholders of $96.2 million, or $1.05 per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2019, compared to $79.5 million, or $0.86 per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2018. Earnings per diluted share would have been $0.92 for the quarter ended June 30, 2018, adjusting for one-time expenses of $8.6 million."Webster's solid performance continued in the second quarter as we've now posted four consecutive quarters with return on common equity above 13 percent," said John R.
