They said the 43% increase in the trash-collection and recycling company's stock in the past year months has raised its valuation multiples and limited the likelihood of further gains. “Republic Services ( RSG ) has been a solid story and continues to execute on reaccelerated M&A spending and pricing initiatives in the environmental services sector,” Jon Windham, analyst at UBS, said in a February 28 report. “However, the combination of slowing growth and full valuations limits the share price upside we see in the near term.” UBS raised its price target on Republic ( RSG ) to $195 a share from $175 a share previously, based on an estimated enterprise value that's about 14 times earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization for 2025. “On the downside, we see some risk that the market might be expecting a continued elevated pace of M&A in 2024, setting up some potential for investor expectations getting ahead of themselves,” according to UBS.
