AI is hitting the gas pedal on large-cap storage demand to keep up with training and all the data generated via AI. WDC and STX are clear winners from this. We downgraded WDC much too early on fears that the demand-supply balance may be loss and positives were priced in but we were far too early. WDC's 1QFY26 results confirm that demand continues to outpace supply, leading to ASP benefit on large-cap storage, and management is showing no signs of increasing supply. We're upgrading WDC to a buy but recommend investors choose entry points with caution.
