Freshly cleaned clothing and linens are some of the simplest pleasures in life. Many of us only realize how good we have it when laundry day becomes increasingly difficult due to an aging or broken washing machine. Don't wait until you've carried a basket of dirty laundry to the car to wash at a friend's house or a laundromat for the hundredth time before looking for a new washer. Over the course of five months, we tested six of the latest washing machine models in addition to evaluating over 250 products from 16 popular brands. Not every brand made the cut in our final list, which we ultimately narrowed to 11 models from 9 companies, like Electrolux, Maytag, Whirlpool, LG and Bosch.
