The company has authorized a $300 million extension of the repurchase program that was first launched in August 2023. Since its inception about a year and a half ago, Wingstop has invested nearly $700 million and repurchased approximately 2.6 million shares, including approximately $53.4 million under its current authorization. “We remain focused on prioritizing long-term growth investments while leveraging our asset-lite model and strong free cash flow to return capital to shareholders,” Wingstop CFO Alex Kaleida said in a statement. “This additional authorization reinforces our commitment to sustainable, long-term value creation.” The buyback program extension allows Wingstop to buy back shares through various methods, including open market transactions, privately negotiated deal
