Jersey Mike's has signed an agreement to expand into Europe, marking the brand's debut outside of North America, and the franchisee may sound familiar. The 400-unit deal targets Ireland and the United Kingdom and was signed with JM Submarines UK Ltd., led by Jersey Mike's founder and former chief executive officer Peter Cancro. The first location is expected to open this year. Cancro founded Jersey Mike's more than 50 years ago and remains a significant shareholder following the company's sale to private-equity firm Blackstone in late 2024 . “This marks a pivotal milestone in Jersey Mike's growth journey as we expand into the European market,” chief executive officer Charlie Morrison said in a statement. “We could not ask for a better partner than Peter to lead this market expansion.
