Charlie Morrison is well aware of the often-negative perception surrounding private equity firms, especially in the food business. The Jersey Mike's chief executive officer is also well aware of the social media conversations happening about the chain since its acquisition by Blackstone — the world's largest PE firm — last year for approximately $8 billion. Since that acquisition, several posts have gone viral alleging that the sandwich chain's portion sizes have shrunk or that the quality has diminished. During a recent interview, Morrison said nothing has changed.
