National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day is back and crispier than ever, meaning a variety of fast-food chains are offering deals and discounts on Sunday, Nov. 9, for customers to celebrate. The popularity of fried chicken sandwiches continues to skyrocket, with billions of them being consumed in the United States each year. Roughly 3.5 billion chicken sandwiches are consumed annually in the U.S., according to the Stores, which reported in 2021, citing the NPD Group, an industry analysis firm now known as Circana. Consumers' cravings haven't slowed down, as from 2019 to 2024, fried-chicken-sandwich consumption increased 19% at American restaurants, while burger consumption dropped 3%, which cited data from Circana.
