The retail giant will upgrade store layouts, technology and services to enable faster shopping and delivery options, with some customers able to receive orders in as little as an hour. The project builds on Walmart's investment of more than $422 million in New York stores over the past five years. The remodeled locations will feature a store-based app that allows customers to navigate aisles. Walmart+ members will gain access to free pharmacy delivery. Updated stores will carry brands including De'Longhi, Oura, Jessica Simpson and Lemme, along with interactive displays designed to help shoppers visualize products in their homes. The New York remodels are part of Walmart's national plan to upgrade more than 650 Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets this year. The phased remodel project will affect stores in 24 New York cities, including locations in Auburn, Camillus, Rochester, Niagara Falls, Ithaca, Newburgh and Vestal.
