Investing.com -- Swedish fintech firm Klarna has secured an exclusive partnership with Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) to provide buy now, pay later loans, edging out rival Affirm, CNBC reported on Monday. Klarna, which recently disclosed its plans to go public in the U.S., will offer loans to Walmart customers both in-store and online through OnePay, Walmart's majority-owned fintech startup, the report said, citing people with knowledge of the situation. OnePay, which recently changed its brand name from One, will manage the user experience via its app. Meanwhile, Klarna will be responsible for underwriting decisions for loans that range from 3 months to 36 months in duration, and with annual interest rates ranging from 10% to 36%, according to CNBC. The report also added that the new financial product is set to launch in the coming weeks and is expected to be available across all Walmart channels by the holiday season.
