The S&P 500, itself, closed Friday, down only -11% YTD (and only -15% below its all-time peak), even in the face of the most severe Recession (Depression?) since the 1930s. And, Wall Street is raving that the Bear market has ended and a new Bull has been born. You shouldn’t be fooled. The S&P 500 is a market-cap weighted index, as is the DJIA and Nasdaq. On an equal-weighted basis, the S&P 500 is still down nearly 20% YTD, and it remains -21% below its February peak. So, technically, it is still a Bear market! Ban
