The celebrity chef's casual dining venture, Jamie's Italian, fell into administration in 2019 under the weight of an £80m debt pile following a period of rapid expansion. At its peak, it had around 40 sites across the UK with an annual turnover of more than £100m. However, diners shunned the chain amid complaints that the quality of the food had dropped. Mr Oliver said he was “going to take it slowly”, with the relaunch starting with a restaurant on Leicester Square in central London as a joint venture with Prezzo owner Brava Hospitality. “As a chef, having the chance to return to the high street is incredibly important to me.
