TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WPX Energy (NYSE:WPX) announced today that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of $500 million of senior unsecured notes due 2028.WPX intends to use the net proceeds from the offering and, if necessary, any other sources of available funds, which may include borrowings under its senior secured credit facility, to fund the purchase of up to $500 million aggregate purchase price of its outstanding 6.000% Senior Notes due 2022, 8.250% Senior Notes due 2023 and 5.250% Senior Notes due 2024 through cash tender offers.Any excess net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include the repayment or redemption of outstanding indebtedness.Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, BofA Securities, Inc., and TD Securities (USA) LLC are acting as lead book-running managers for the offering.The offering is being made pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement of WPX previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.The
