February jobs report exceeded expectations with 275,000 jobs gained, showing a strong labor market. The unemployment rate ticked up to 3.9%, but wage gains slowed, reducing pressure on the Federal Reserve to hold off rate cuts. Notably, mortgage rates declined and applications rose in the week ended March 7. On Wednesday, Fed Chair Jerome Powell indicated that the U.S. economy is growing at a pace, and there is no evidence that it is falling into a recession in the short term. He said that they are on a good path to achieving growth, keeping the labor market strong and getting inflation to get to the Fed's 2% goal. Bullish sentiments neared their 52-week high among stock investors. S&P 500 Index was largely flat over the course of the week to end at $5,123.69, down on a weekly basis.
