Yet the function with possibly the greatest influence on deal success has historically lacked widely accepted metrics: human resources. While ISO 30414 international standards for human capital reporting emerged in 2018 (updated in 2025), they weren't developed specifically for M&A integration. Existing metrics like retention numbers and payroll synergies capture only half the picture.
