Texas' largest-ever wildfire, which began in late February 2024 and was triggered by power lines, not a laser beam, according to investigators. The Smokehouse Creek fire destroyed grassland and property across millions of acres in the panhandle region of Texas in February and March 2024, and has become the largest wildfire in the state's history.
