Related news The move from cars with advanced driver-assistance systems to autonomous vehicles will require a major increase in sensors and onboard computing power. That will be a boon for chip stocks playing in the automotive market, one brokerage says. Investment bank Morgan Stanley on Thursday identified four chip stocks it thinks are well-positioned for growth in the emerging sector. They are: Ambarella ( AMBA ), Intel ( INTC ), Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Xilinx ( XLNX ). Of those four, Ambarella offers the most upside with exposure to autonomous vehicles, Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore said in a note to clients. His observations were included in a team report on the sector titled "Autonomous Driving: Who Is Best Positioned to Monetize the Content Opportunity?" Ambarella is diversifying into computer vision systems from its legacy business of providing video processors for GoPro ( GPRO ) and other consumer device makers.
