It was also a milestone for Marc Benioff , Salesforce's CEO, who had co-founded the San Francisco-based cloud-based software company in 1999. Benioff had worked at Oracle ( ORCL ) for 13 years in a variety of sales, marketing, and product development roles. At 23, he was named Oracle's Rookie of the Year and later became the youngest vice president in the company's history.
