Zoom Video Communications Inc. stock tumbled up to 7% Wednesday after Alphabet Inc.'s Google said it will soon make its Meet video-conferencing service for businesses free for any user. Zoom has been tech's hottest company during the coronavirus pandemic, with its user base catapulting 20-fold to more than 200 million, prompting the move by Google and an announcement by Facebook Inc. that it is launching a similar service called Messenger Rooms. Google said anybody with a Google account will now be able to create free meetings of up to 100 people that can last any amount of time, although it may restrict meeting length to 60 minutes after September 30. The rollout will begin gradually over the coming weeks, G Suite vice president Javier Soltero said in a statement.
