Clothing retailer American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is planning a private offering of $400 million of convertible senior notes that mature in 2025. The company said proceeds of the deal will be used for general corporate purposes. The company is one of many that are issuing debt and equity to raise cash during the coronavirus pandemic. Shares fell 4% premarket and are down 43% in the year to date, while the S&P 500 has fallen 15%.
