Amos was promoted in 1990, when his uncle, Aflac founder and CEO John Amos, died. Dan and John Amos are the only two chief executives the company has had in its 71-year history. When Dan Amos took over the company, it had a market capitalization of $1.2 billion. Today, the company is worth more than $50 billion. With the retirement of Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett, Amos becomes the longest-tenured CEO of a public company in the nation. Last week, Amos sat down with WRBL for a wide-ranging Sunday Conversation. That conversation was held in the tower on Aflac's Wynnton Road campus.
