Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. said late Thursday it has hired Gustavo Arnal as its new chief financial officer, effective Monday, as CFO and Treasurer Robyn D'Elia is departing the company. Arnal previously worked at Avon and has held senior positions at Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. and Procter & Gamble Co., the retailer said. Bed Bath & Beyond also announced the hiring of Rafeh Masood as its chief digital officer, effective May 11. Gregg Melnick, who served as interim chief digital officer, will serve as chief stores officer, the company said. Bed Bath & Beyond said last week its April online sales jumped 85%, and some of its furloughed employees were returning to work to support that surge. Shares of Bed Bath & Beyond fell 0.5% in the extended session after ending the regular trading day down 6.1%.
