The shopping center staple is known for its scented hand sanitizers and body washes and touts a range of fruity, floral, and musky fragrances with names like Japanese Cherry Blossom and A Thousand Wishes. Between Feb. 1, 2025, and Jan. 31, 2026, Bath & Body Works shuttered 62 U.S. locations and 30 others operated by international partners, the company noted in its 2025 earnings report . A majority of these now-defunct stores were located inside malls, a company spokesperson said. The company also opened 94 new locations in the U.S. (and 74 via international partners) during the same period – mostly stores outside of malls, reflecting a shift in its strategy. In February, Bath & Body Works began selling on Amazon for the first time, offering fragrances, candles, and body-care products through the e-commerce platform.
