The Clorox Company and GOJO announced April 1 that Clorox had completed its planned acquisition of GOJO and adopted the new company name. Clorox, based in Oakland, California, said in a January news release that the parties agreed to a $2.25 billion cash purchase, with an estimated $330 million in tax benefits to put the net purchase price at $1.92 billion. Regarding questions about what else the deal means for the GOJO brand identity, its long-held place in the Akron area and what the change of ownership could mean, Samantha Williams, Clorox Purell vice president of strategic communications, said via email that more answers will come over time.
