CoreCivic reopened facilities after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agreed to contract with them. The immigration crackdown has been heavily funded through tax dollars, especially with President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. Some candidates pledge to donate six-figure raise given to next State Superintendent In Oklahoma, CoreCivic operates several facilities. One is the Cimmarron Correctional Facility in Cushing, and the other is the Diamondback Correctional Facility in Watonga. News 4 went out to Watonga to see the site, and there were dozens of workers on the property, seemingly working to get it ready to be open to inmates. In their recent conference call surrounding their third-quarter financial report, CoreCivic announced that the plans for the Diamondback facility with ICE will generate a lot of the profit.
